History

Eastman Roofing & Waterproofing is a family-owned and operated company serving the roofing needs of homeowners and business operators in San Jose and the Silicon Valley since 1979.

Jim Eastman grew up in Watsonville, CA and moved to the Santa Clara Valley in the late 1970s. His strong interest in building and carpentry led him to jobs working for various custom builders as a carpenter, and learning all phases of general construction. Later on, he worked in the solar industry, installing and repairing domestic hot water systems, pool systems, and photovoltaic systems. He also worked with a roofing contractor and learned how to install and repair all types of roof systems.

After years of experience in many different areas of the general construction and roofing trades, Jim pursued a dream of beginning his own company. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit, Jim and his newlywed wife, Linda, started Eastman Contracting Roofing & Solar. They began operating out of their home and then moved to an office in Campbell, CA. As Jim and Linda’s family grew, so did their business. Eastman Contracting Roofing and Solar moved from the Campbell office to San Jose, the heart of Silicon Valley, where they’ve since been located for the last 25+ years. With Jim and Linda’s enthusiasm and strong work ethic, the company evolved into Eastman Contracting. The business continued to flourish and grow into the specialized and experienced company it is today: Eastman Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. Each name change was prompted by a change in focus and by an effort to promote what they really wanted to perfect: roofing. Today, with more than 40 years of industry and experience serving 40,000 customers, Eastman Roofing & Waterproofing is well qualified to take care of your roofing needs.

Eastman’s history is important to them as they continue to grow as a business. In addition to standing behind the family name, their ethics of operation mean that they want the best for you, your family, your home or your business.
